Medicare benefits

From the 1 July 2011, diagnostic imaging service providers must be accredited under Stage II of the Scheme in order to be eligible to access benefits applicable under Medicare.

Service providers who are not accredited cannot provide Medicare funded diagnostic imaging services and will need to inform patients that they cannot claim a Medicare benefit for the service they receive and why.
