AGPAL and QIP are both peer-led companies. AGPAL is a not for profit organisation and its members are as follows: comprise profession representatives as well as one independent board director.

The members represented in the AGPAL board are:

  • Australian Association of General Practitioner (AAGP)
  • Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM)
  • Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
  • Australian General Practice Network (AGPN)
  • Australian Medical Association (AMA)
  • Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA)
  • National Association of Medical Deputising Australia Ltd (NAMDS)
  • Royal Australian College of General Practices (RACGP)
  • Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA)

Some members (AAGP, AGPN, AMA, RDAA) appoint a nominee to the board and the additional independent nominees are elected by all members.

AGPAL's board also has a nominee from the Consumer's Health Forum.
