Practical learnings to get your healthcare service ready for the latest NSQHS Standards
Our first QIP NSQHS Standards (second edition) Workshop was held in Melbourne East on Tuesday 30 July and was a day full of learning.
QIP’s team of NSQHS Standards experts delivered the full day, interactive NSQHS Standards training Workshop to assist hospital and day procedure service staff on their accreditation journey.
The training contents primary focus was around three of the NSQHS Standards:
- Standard 1 – Clinical Governance Standard
- Standard 2 – Partnering with Consumers, and
- Standard 5 – Comprehensive Care of the NSQHS Standards (second edition)
Emphasis on Standards 1, 2, and 5 allowed our team to outline how these Standards set overarching examples for the remaining five NSQHS Standards to support our attendees with interpretation and application. Practical examples, case studies, tools, and resources were provided to support a number of implementation initiatives and take away learnings.
Attendees gained an insight into how the NSQHS Standards promote quality improvements, integrate and work together within the evidence requirements and were provided with useful tools, and frameworks to support the implementation of the Standards.
Some of the great, attendee feedback from the Workshop includes:
“The inter-activeness of the whole session – great presenter and very approachable”
“Tools to help implement the Standards, the planning tool and example, and the consumer and community engagement plan”
“Practical application of the various criteria and examples provided, the information helped to identify gaps”
“Good summary of the changes with the second edition of the NSQHS Standards, and new requirements and expectations”
With such positive feedback, our QIP Education & Training team is eagerly working on future NSQHS Standards (second edition) Workshops to support health service organisations on their NSQHS Standards accreditation and quality improvement journey.
